You ship code. Your changelog updates. Your release notes go out. And then — nothing. No LinkedIn post. No technical blog. No signal that the work happened.
That’s not a motivation problem. It’s a pipeline problem. The gap between what gets merged and what your audience sees is a content operations gap, and for most developer-focused teams, it’s permanent because nobody owns it.
Pressroom HQ is built to close that gap. We shipped publicly this week, and rather than write a generic “we’re live” announcement, we want to walk you through what we actually built — the architecture decisions, the integrations, the MCP server, and why we made the specific choices we did.
The Core Problem (Specifically)
Developer teams produce signal constantly. Every merged PR, every release tag, every GitHub org activity update is a potential content moment. The problem isn’t production — it’s the editorial layer between production and distribution.
Most teams handle this one of two ways: a dedicated DevRel or marketing person who manually monitors GitHub and writes content (expensive, doesn’t scale), or generic scheduling tools that have no understanding of what they’re distributing and still require someone to manually feed them content.
Neither solves the pipeline problem. They just move it around.
Pressroom works from a different model: detect meaningful signal from your GitHub activity, filter noise from substance, generate draft content calibrated to your brand voice, then surface it for a human to review and approve before anything ships. Every step reduces friction between your engineering output and your audience — without removing human judgment from the process.
What We Actually Shipped
The commit history across four repos tells the story better than any marketing copy. Here’s what the last sprint looked like:
pressroom-app: 20 commits including Google Search Console integration, bearer token auth for the Pressroom API, LinkedIn OAuth global settings fallback, auto-discovery of all GitHub repos from an org to automatically create Wire sources, and actual error surfacing in the Team UI when GitHub linking fails. That last one replaced a silent success — a bug that would have driven early users insane.
pressroom-site: Rebuilt from scratch with an Astro + Tailwind stack, deployed via Fly.io with nginx serving static assets. The marketing site now syncs docs directly from the pressroom-docs repo at build time, so documentation never drifts from the codebase.
pressroom-mcp: 38 tools shipped in the Pressroom MCP Server, exposing the full content pipeline as MCP-compatible tools with bearer token auth support.
pressroom-docs: Full platform documentation, reframed for hosted SaaS — we removed all local install assumptions because Pressroom runs as a managed service.
The Architecture Decision Worth Explaining: MCP First
The most deliberate decision we made was building a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server alongside the core application rather than as an afterthought.
If Pressroom is going to live inside AI-assisted workflows — and it will, because that’s where developer teams are operating — the content pipeline needs to be accessible as structured tools, not just a web UI you visit manually.
The pressroom-mcp server exposes the full pipeline as callable tools. An agent running in your editor, your CI system, or a scheduled cron can invoke Pressroom’s signal detection, content generation, and recommendation layer without a human initiating each run. The human still approves before anything distributes — but the pipeline runs automatically.
The 38 tools cover the full stack: GitHub signal ingestion, semantic relevance scoring, content draft generation, brand voice application, SEO signal analysis via GSC integration, and distribution queue management.
Auth is bearer token — clean, standard, no OAuth dance required for API-to-API calls.

GitHub Auto-Discovery: Why This Matters for Orgs
One of the commits that looks small but isn’t: feat: auto-discover all GitHub repos from org and create Wire source.
Content ops coverage should span your entire org — not just the repos someone manually added to a list. Auto-discovery means when you connect your GitHub org to Pressroom, it crawls your repos and creates Wire sources for each one automatically. New repos get picked up. Archived repos drop off.
The signal you miss is usually from repos you forgot to configure. A library gets a new release. A CLI tool gets a significant update. Both are content moments that fall through the cracks in a manually-configured system.
We also added validation of GitHub tokens before they’re used in discovery. That sounds obvious, but it prevents a class of silent failures where the system appears to be working while actually not ingesting anything.
GSC Integration: Closing the Loop on Distribution
Content operations without performance data is writing into a void. The Google Search Console integration closes the loop between what Pressroom surfaces and how content is actually performing in search.
The recommendation layer can surface content opportunities informed by actual search performance data — not just what GitHub activity happened. If a topic is showing up in GSC impressions but your existing content on it is thin, Pressroom flags it.
This isn’t SEO automation. It’s giving the human reviewer better context when they’re deciding what to approve and prioritize.
The Marketing Site Is Part of the Architecture
The pressroom-site rebuild wasn’t aesthetic — it was infrastructure. The docs sync pipeline pulls documentation at build time from the pressroom-docs repo. No manual copy-paste. No docs that are three versions behind. What you read on the site is what’s in the repo.
Deployed on Fly.io with nginx serving the static Astro build. The terminal aesthetic on the marketing site isn’t decoration — it’s a signal to the right audience that this tool was built by people who live in terminals.
What’s Next
The platform is open for early access. The immediate roadmap:
- Hacker News and Reddit signal filtering — detecting when your product, your competitors, or relevant technical discussions surface in communities where your audience spends time
- Release notes automation pipeline — structured generation of changelog entries directly from merged PRs, with formatting presets for different distribution channels
- Expanded MCP tool coverage — deeper integration hooks for CI/CD workflows and editor-native AI assistants
