Getting started

Prerequisites, local setup, environment configuration, and first run instructions for Pressroom HQ.

Getting started

Create your account

Sign up at pressroom.com and create your first organization.

Onboard your company

The onboarding flow sets up Pressroom for your company in three steps:

1. Company profile

Enter your domain and Pressroom crawls your site to learn about your company — name, industry, audience, topics, and competitors. Review the synthesized profile and adjust anything that doesn’t look right.

2. Voice profile

Configure how your content should sound:

SettingWhat it doesExample
PersonaWho is speaking”Senior DevOps engineer who’s seen it all”
AudienceWho you’re writing for”Platform engineers at mid-size startups”
ToneHow it should feel”Direct, slightly irreverent, technically precise”
Brand keywordsWords to include naturally”reliability, developer experience, shift-left”

3. Connect sources

Configure where Pressroom should look for signals:

  • GitHub repos — Releases and commits from your repos and repos you follow
  • Hacker News — Keywords relevant to your industry
  • Reddit — Subreddits your audience reads
  • RSS feeds — Blogs, newsletters, and news sources you track

Connect integrations

In Settings, connect the platforms you publish to:

  • GitHub — For signal scouting, team discovery, and the SEO PR pipeline
  • LinkedIn — Publish posts directly from Pressroom
  • Facebook — Publish to your company page
  • HubSpot — Sync content to HubSpot CMS

Each integration walks you through OAuth or API key setup in the browser.

Run your first pipeline

Once onboarded:

  1. Scout — Pull signals from your configured sources
  2. Review signals — Browse what the scout found, prioritize the good ones
  3. Generate — Create content across channels (blog, LinkedIn, X, email, etc.)
  4. Review content — Approve, edit, or spike items in the queue
  5. Publish — Push approved content to connected platforms

MCP integration

Pressroom also works headless via the MCP server. Connect it to Claude Code to run the full pipeline from your terminal. See MCP setup.
